January 6th BPC Meeting - "Infrared Photography" by Byron Capo and

Tech Talk "Navigating BPC’s Website" by Jerry Veal

With St. Augustine/Menorcan heritage that goes back to the mid 1700s, I grew up in the woods and around the water, with a passion for outdoor living. As a graduate of University of Central Florida, I picked up a camera and shot my first roll. Self taught, with some great mentors I set off to craft a new passion, photographic art. Since then I have used my talents as a professional architectural and landscape photographer. I have competed in numerous contests, winning a Jeanne Trommel “Best In Show” award in the St. Augustine Art Association and  had numerous other winning images in local contests. My work has been published in a variety of local and regional magazines and has been shown in solo exhibitions and several galleries. Alternative Processes, including Infrared, Silver Gelatin and Palladium Printing are some of my most recent passions.

This presentation is an exploration Into the world of Infrared Photography. In it we will discuss, Infrared Light and its photographic history, cameras, necessary equipment, metering and post processing. We will also explore the nature of infrared light and how it interacts with our subjects. Finaly, we’ll view of a few of the Infrared images I have taken over the years.
