BIO:

Patrick Grady has been an avid photographer since he was in high school, and he is still learning every single day. After putting his camera aside for the first 7 years of his career, he figured out a way to marry the business and creative sides of his life and has been involved in still and video projects all over the world on both sides of the camera. He spent over 20 years as on camera talent hosting industrial (business) videos, television programs, and live events. Today, Patrick works primarily in event and portrait photography including stills and video.

Description of "The Red Button of Happiness… Making Fun Videos People Enjoy Watching"

CCM - or consumer created media… is ubiquitous. We can’t get away from it even if we try. Nearly every person over 12 has a phone in his or her pocket with more video production power than most studios had 20 years ago - including the ability to “go live” at any time. And now we have Drones! And Go Pros! And on and on. The difference between garbage and gold, of course, is quality of content (and that’s subjective!) In video, now more than ever, bigger is not usually better. Most of us have hundreds of hours of video footage on our phones, very little on our cameras, and even less edited and shared and enjoyed after the initial capture. Patrick will share a few apps and techniques - from no cost to low cost… that can help improve your video output and people’s enjoyment of your work. This talk will be less about any specific device, and more about how to capture and what to do with the footage you’ve shot.
