July 2nd BPC meeting - "What Judges Want" by Young McQueen

Young has been seriously “practicing” photography since having a Ricohflex 120 twin-lens reflex camera (a Rolleiflex clone) and a garage bathroom/darkroom in junior high school. He has a special interest in judging and critiquing images which follows a career as a food critic, gemologist and appraiser, among others. Over the past ten years he has judged international, national, state, and local level photography contests.

Young was the judge of our 2023 Beaches Photography Club Annual Competition. He will share insights in to how judges view images and hopefully help us all be better prepared for the 2024 Annual Competition.
